Welcome to the homepage of the Department of Integrative Energy Engineering at Korea University.
The Department of Integrative Energy Engineering was established in 2020 as an advanced division within the College of Engineering at Korea University. Its educational mission is to cultivate creative future leaders who can drive energy technology innovation and develop differentiated interdisciplinary energy solutions for a sustainable future.
Currently, 22 faculty members and staff are dedicated to education and talent development with sincerity and commitment.
The department provides a comprehensive curriculum by integrating Energy Technology (ET) with Nanotechnology (NT), Information Technology (IT), and Biotechnology (BT), covering core subjects in sustainable future energy. Furthermore, it has established an innovative educational system—first within Korea University’s College of Engineering—that combines energy engineering with energy and environmental policy in the humanities and social sciences, fostering creative and well-rounded problem-solving capabilities.
The graduate programs affiliated with the department (KU-KIST Graduate School of Converging Science and Technology and the Graduate School of Energy and Environment) actively conduct advanced research and development in convergence energy technologies and policy based on R&D centers. As a result, the programs secure over KRW 5 billion annually in research funding, including major initiatives such as Brain Korea 21 FOUR, and produce numerous world-class research publications, achieving top-tier research performance within Korea University.
Now entering its fifth year since establishment, the Department of Convergence Energy Engineering strives to become a world-leading department in education, research, industry-academia collaboration, and global partnerships. Faculty, students, and staff are all working together toward this goal, and we sincerely ask for your continued interest, encouragement, and support.
Thank you.
Head of the Department of Integrative Energy Engineering
